MacKenzie Barden

Hey I’m Kenzie, and I’m proud to be a part of the Visual Communications class of 2020.

Over the past four years, I have learned that design is much more than what we see on the surface. Design is all around us and has shaped our world in both positive and negative ways. I’ve become a champion of human-centered design and believe that those closest to the problem are the closest to the solution. As a designer, I am looking forward to using these tools to improve people’s lives and the world in the next chapter of my life. After graduation, I plan on pursuing my MS in Human Factors from Bentley University, and in the long term a career in User Experience.

Verity is an interactive mobile platform that provides truthful, accurate, and verified information regarding the accessibility of business establishments while building a network between businesses and community members. There is currently no organized collection of information regarding what commercial businesses are accessible. For those with mobility impairments, accessibility can feel like a guessing game. Verity solves this problem by combining accessibility information into a single platform where users can quickly understand the accessibility of business establishments along with reading & leaving reviews.
